ABOUT

Alice was one of the last students of the legendary Russian conducting pedagogue Ilya Musin from 1997-1999 and continued her studies Leonid Korchmar until 2000.

'Alice Farnham just made a triumphant debut at the Mariinsky Theatre (2013).  I can say that Alice Farnham is an excellent exemplar of this great (Musin) school of conducting.  She conducts in a manner that is fluid, clear, expressive, encouraging the orchestra to sing.  It is conducting that moves beyond simple rhytmnic organisation and actually guides and shapes the sound of the orchestra'.   Leonid Korchmar - Professor, St. Petseburg Conservatoire & Conductor, Mariinsky Theatre

'Women Conductors is doing something fantastic: a programme for women conductors taught by the very gifted Alice Farnham. '    Sir Antonio Pappano

Alice is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Women Conductors with the Royal Philharmonic Society – a ground-breaking programme to encourage women into conducting . http://www.royalphilharmonicsociety.org.uk/womenconductors

Since 2017 she has been Artistic Director of the National Concert Hall Female Conductor Programme in Ireland.  https://www.nch.ie/Online/default.asp?BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::permalink=Female-Conductors-Programme&BOparam::WScontent::loadArticle::context_id=
